  • Great show tonight by The Section Quartet, playing Radiohead's The Bends at the Broad Theater in Santa Monica, CA.  Grant did vocals on 2 songs.  One was Fake Plastic Trees, and he played his Schecter guitar on that one.   He also did My Iron Lung a few songs later.  He sounded really good on both and looked like he was enjoying himself quite a bit. He always sounds good with The Section Quartet backing him up.

I asked him afterward if he would be doing any solo or GLB shows.  He said he is concentrating on comedy, doing a podcast with comedienne Margaret Cho.  He'll also be appearing with her at a show at the Disney Hall in Downtown L.A. Nov. 21.  And he may do a Largo show here and there.  That's all the info he shared about upcoming plans.

  • Sigh.

The bends is such a lovely album - I don't think there is a song in it that I don't like.

Grant did a lovely job there, it's a beautiful performance. Thanks for sharing!
Is the new Xbox out yet?

  • Full disclosure: I am drunk. I have had a mad day full of adventures in Dublin, and am just in from the Dublin version of Octoberfest. But LAGirl, that might just be the shittiest news I've had all this week. He's a funny fucker, but 'concentrating on comedy'? News for ye dude: you're a fucking musician. You know what they do, yeah? And it ain't fucking comedy podcasts.

Actually, I hope this doesn't read as bad to ya'll as it does to me reading it back, but I've had a bit of bad news the previous week (don't worry, it's not health or work related; just something that's really, really pissed me off).
Grant-Lee Phillips shows: 8 since 2002 and counting!
Grant Lee Buffalo shows: May 17 (Dublin) and May 18 (London) 2011.

I have no memory of writing that post. I, do, however, stand by what I wrote in paragraph 1. I don't remember what the news was the annoyed me so much in paragraph 2 though!
